My therapeutic Approach

Therapy doesn’t have to be torture.

Asking the question "why is the body experiencing pain at this point, at this time?" opens space for a solution to rise to the surface. Listening to the complexity of what appears to be a problematic experience allows for new information and specific direction to come to light.

Use ENergy, not force.

Stressed or painful tissue is rarely benefited by additional pressure. Supporting the individual structures that are in a state of strain gives voice to the conversation between the myriad teammates of muscles, bones, and nerves. Each person's body has the capability to heal itself- given the atmosphere and components and time needed, and through positive activation of the body’s own functions such as the parasympathetic nervous system.

Don’t fix, facilitate.

As a therapist, my role is one of facilitator, not fixer. Each person’s health journey is unique and inextricably tied to their overall wellness as a human being. Given the tools and support of a team of healthcare professionals including traditional medicine, and with individual motivation, anyone can experience not just relief, but bliss.

bliss is therapeutic.

What People Are Saying

"So very impressed with RubyAnn. She took the time to get to know my background and how best she could help. Can't wait to go back!"

"RubyAnn is a professional Massage Therapist. I have been fortunate that she moved here, and that I found her!

She has made a life-changing difference in my life since I became one of her many clients. Being retirement age, having had 4 back surgeries, 2 shoulder surgeries & health challenges such as fibromyalgia, I continually searched for relief from years of pain.

RubyAnn is highly skilled and knowledgeable regarding the mechanics, structure of the body, and most importantly, how the body works as a whole. She is readily able to name all the muscles, bones, areas of the body (she is a walking encyclopedia), when asked to explain what she is doing. Her knowledge of how everything works together, and her ability to articulate techniques she is using, is amazing.

Most appreciated is how she starts the session with questions about problems experienced, determining a course of action for the session. It’s never a routine session with a predictable course of treatment. It’s truly a designer session, responding to the needs of the day. Her insight and gifted hands result in leaving the session feeling amazingly better than when it started!

Also impressive is recognizing long-term goals and course of treatment, should the client choose. She is skilled for the short-term and also the long-term life-changing treatments!"

"RubyAnn is the best massage therapist in Dickinson. We have a pre-massage visit before every session. She gets to know your history and how you are doing before and after each visit. She can find all of your sore spots without you telling her anything. She has great hands and techniques to customize each visit according to your body's needs. I see her every 2 weeks and look forward to each and every visit with her."
